Using VART/MIDI, most levels are just fine, but the MIDI trips over itself in a big way on a couple tracks. It is particularly egregious on E2M6, the audio becomes a bizarre mess. Otherwise that level plays fine, the music is just totally messed up. E1M4/E2M5 is almost flawless except for an initial, intricate drum breakdown that messes up a little bit, but the rest of the tune plays normally. I haven't really noticed weird behavior with the MIDI in other levels yet. This happens with the music soundcard set either to Soundcanvas (SC-55) or to General Midi although it seems to behave a little bit better with General Midi despite using the same soundfont.
