I get the "Authentication failed due to insufficient or invalid credentials" error when trying to set up a connection from mainsite to remotesite.
I've tried both the remote connection wizard and manual setup, and don't see any console errors when trying either.
Several months ago, I was successfully able to set up a connection from remotesite to mainsite after disabling Yoast SEO's "Remove WP-JSON API" setting as described in #1139. As far as I know, the relevant settings on both sites are the same (Yoast setting disabled, same Distributor version/WP version/PHP version/theme/hosting provider, no firewalls, no security plugins), so I'm really lost as to why I'm seeing this issue when trying to set up the connection in the opposite direction.
I can work around this for now by pulling the needed content through the connection I set up from remotesite, but ideally I'd like to be able to push content from mainsite. Any help you can offer is appreciated!
