Update: Russ and I are going to work this out on Weds in person when I'm in chicago.
Not going to do the "gating," but need to (1) include some additional instruction to say that says you need direct deposit, and (2) allows people to give us their emails for when future functionality roles out.
Treasury is also working on pulling together a short, simple, and sweet letter to employers that make clear that all you need to do facilitate funding through direct deposit.
Are we not doing gating at all? Or are we just not demoing it now?
We're not doing the gating at all. Based on the mockups, it became clear that it would add too much conversion friction. The mockups were necessary to get this point across. So not wasted effort.
Excellent. That's what I like to hear.
Hold off on doing anything with this until we get clearer direction.
Latest guidance from Treasury:
(a) The landing page clearly needs to communicate to individuals that they need direct deposit at the present in order to participate in myRA;
(b) Per (a), these instructions need to include a downloadable letter that individuals can hand to their employer, which explains how the employer can setup direct deposit for their employee(s); and
(c) For those who currently do not have access to direct deposit, allow them to give us their emails for when future functionality roles out.
So for the call to action at the bottom of the page, I have no problem including these instructions. But it's a lot of text to squeeze into the one at the top. Do you think it would be ok if we just include it in the bumper message that appears before they're sent to the OAC?
I added the alert modals to the staging site, but haven't included the text yet.
I think this is addressed on the staging site now, but curious what you think.
Scenarios:
(A) Has access to direct deposit (B) Does not have access to direct deposit
