Fps locked at around 100? #266

I have it set to 240 fps. So I have been experimenting with the graphics settings since I thought my laptop wasn't powerful enough for the game to reach 240 fps. Whether I have the graphics setting to low or highest, the frames seem to be locked at ~120 fps and even 80 in Sumeru City. This fps isn't graphics dependent so I wonder why?

what specs on your laptop? Unlocking the fps also depends on your GPU to push the frame to the set limits as this is just a work around that unlock above 60 fps and it is not optimize for all.

I9-13900H + 4070, some one said their laptop 3060 can run up to 180fps

this game wants lots of VRAM to cache shaders and fast singlethreaded processing. i9 processors have way more threads than anyone needs and many of them are optimized only for background tasks. You probably should use process lasso or something to limit only to the power cores or disable the efficiency cores altogether so you can boost the speeds higher. Also stop constantly changing settings as that's gonna force shader recompile. Your laptop can handle high GI/shadows/environment at 1.0 res scale with smaa, bloom, reflections, and SSS enabled if you want. VFX isnt too taxing but looks pretty bad so I put it on lowest. Set sfx and crowd density to low for large boosts. Now stop changing them, go travel to various spots on the map and accept you will have some stutter as you compile shaders for the first time, but it will be better.

also make sure you get enough power and handle temps as I know the desktop version of that CPU is super power hungry and runs extremely hot. If tuned properly 240 in domains should be no problem. 120-180 in the open world. I'm also pretty sure the intel iGPU can't even do 80 FPS so that's probably not the issue but do check for any intel settings that confirm you want to prioritize the nvidia GPU
