In this post, the Redis team describes their thoughts on the RedisGraph tool and its future.

From today RedisGraph will stop receiving new features and new releases will contain only bugfixes until 31st January 2025. New licenses cannot be bought anymore and the renewal of existing licenses is available only by the 1st of January 2024.

For the long-term view of the project we need to think about changing the technology used to store graph relations.

Currently, the most popular Graph DB options are:

Neo4j (Vast official drivers support)
Amazone Neptune (VERY costly)
Memgraph (open source with a self-hosting option, uses the same drivers as Neo4j)

On top of this, there is an option to extend Postgres RDBMS with the Graph DB functionality:

Apache Age
"Frankenstein" Graph - self-made RDBMS structures to represent graph relations (a bit more manual work, possible new 5G-ERA package that would add Graph functionality to RDBMS databases)
