The basic idea is the same as matrix mixer. But instead of gain, each cell
contains a FIR filter. This allows much more interesting effects, including:

* HRTF downmixing for people with headphones
* HRTF upmixing
* Multichannel equalizer
* Bass redirection
* Reverberation and other environmental effects
* Digital crossover
