This issue was previously reported under linuxmint/cinnamon.
Problem is still occurring. Does not occur with other distributions such as Mint Cinnamon 19.3 and MX Linux 19.2.

Hi,
Not an issue.
It is possible to completely disable the sound card by using the config.txt file in /boot
Just comment the line
#dtparam=audio=on
And that's it.
