Idea to make 40+ gear craftable #80

I have modified this some, by request of Rhonnie

Why I think 40+ gear should be crafted

First of all, it's not very easy to go from full crafted gear, to even two sets of Nordock gear, (especially getting a vengeful set) without trading with other players, because of RNG[^2]. Farming dungeons with crafted gear also takes almost twice as long as with a Nordock weapon[^1]. Also, with the idea I propose, you could trade, or you could simply melt down nordock gear to create more.

Secondly, due to the 2 BTs cost per gem slot filled on Green Gear, newbies (I at the least, but I've seen several others) did not really want to often modify my Green Gear, cause, 2 BTs at a time builds up. Once a player is fully trasitioned to Green Gear and have a surplus of BTs (like the super powerful players) they have no need to limit themselves on how often the modify their gear, and, as the green set bonus is so much more powerful than the crafted one, players can simply level with thier green gear, and never get into crafting.

Sad, cause the best players now never craft. What if there was a way to integrate the 40+ gear into the crafting system?

Nordock Gear

Basically just another level of crafted, it's only 4 levels higher. Nordock gear could be made with [Masterful] Crafted Mithral gear, upgraded with BTs (maybe 15 boss tokens per?) and a 100% chance of success. Alternatively, there could be items, rarely found in dungeons, (and uncommonly found in raids) which would be used as well as (or instead of) BTs to turn [Masterful] Crafted Mithral into Nordock gear. I think this would be proper because one dungeon gives you about 8 BTs, (Rhonnie tells me. I've not ever paid enough attention), so if you run two dungeons and have no luck getting your item, you melt any nordock you did get, and craft some nordock you need.

Green Gear and Green Gems

Green Gear would be gotten still from raids as Broken Green Gear (What?! Do think it's going to be in good shape? You just spent the last few minutes bashing that guy to pieces to get it), with a chance of one green item per raid mini boss, in addition to other loot (suggestion of Rhonnie). Then you would take this Green Gear, combine it with some verdicite (Cause, it's a high level metal and it's green), some BTs, and some other not-so-rare items from around the server (look, there's so many random items you can find, take Abiz for example, wouldn't it be cool to integrate those too?) and Voila! you've got Green Gear.

Now you gotta make some gems. These would still be gotten from raids. But, instead of melting x amount of gems in a forge, to get one random gem back, you would get:

These would then be used, with normal cut gems, (and maybe some metals or flowers too), to craft gems of your choice, with the crystals/shards being used to craft the types of gems you get them from.

Purple Gear

I'm not sure about purple gear, cause a lot of it has backstories which would have to change if it was craftable. I guess purple gear would never be crafted.

Last note

I've no idea how feasible this would be. I've no idea how long it would take to implement. I don't expect this to be implemented, it's just an idea I talked with Rhonnie about, and I thought it was cool, so there's no reason not to put it up here.

[^1]: This is something Rhonnie told me, which I believe without question because Ronnie has played so much longer than me, and I wouldn't know. I do not say that I know this or not. [^2]: I know this from experience.

I just had a thought. We could add "Bossenite" or "Bossium" ingots, gotten from scrapping Nord gear.

Hear hear! Yea I have been thinking a lot about this idea too. A way to have crafting work from lvl 1 to top end-game gear. It all looks feasible with proper balancing ofc.

The biggest issue here I believe will be our beloved @Samuel-IH time, which is very limited and extremely valuable :D But anyway, lets discuss more ideas more in deep, regardless if we will be actually implementing this or not.

Nordock Gear:

This tier could be craftable with specific GTS assets you can find only on level 40 dungeons (like specific wood and ores from dungeons) + some Boss Tokens. This way you keep it simple and in-line with the previous tier.

Socketable Gear:

I like the broken weapon idea (reminds me of V-Rising crafting). You could find broken socketable gear in raids, then combine it with existing materials (either verdicide or specific GTS assets you can find on RAIDs only), + some boss tokens and here you have your socketable item crafted.

Socketable Gems:

I second your idea on gems 100%. Sounds great!

Purple Gear:

Here it gets more complicated, especially now that we are close (or something like that), to Hard Core raids and the next tier of equipment.

To keep things simple and not have players go mad, we could keep it working the same way as Socketable Gear would work: you can also find a broken Purple item on a raid, then you can mix it with rare GTS assets from the raid + Boss Token, and boom, you have your Purple Item. Or no broken purple at all, just specific GTS assets from RAIDs + Boss Tokens.

For HC next tier of Purple items, the idea is basically to not make any new item, but you can craft and evolve an existing purple item into a Legendary item. Example: you have a Mastodon's Bone Crusher, then on your HC raid, the boss drops some special legendary ingots (or similar), and then you can mix them up with Boss Tokens to craft a Legendary version of the Mastodon's Bone Crusher.

More ideas on how we could craft Purples and Legendary items are appreciated!

I see. So if we did this, would we be adding one more tier (of GTS-Assets) or multiple? I mean, we'd add some tier which would probably include purple dye, we already have verdicite for green if we want, and what for Nordock?

Would we want to make Bossenite Ore, Bossyum trees, and Imdaboss flowers, or just Bossium ore and some other trees and flowers, or just totally different stuff per our imagination which you can melt BTs down into (or at least buy with boss tokens) or what? I guess since Nordock gear seems to be divine focused we could do... orange? (not white, not gold, not yellow) or maybe just reuse Elanor since it looks so cool!

And about purples, one way, if we are going broken purples, we could have pretty rare assets that spawn on raids, and can be harvested etc. Or we could have super rare assets that spawn on raids to upgrade stuff to higher more powerful purples if we're going that way.
