For the FHIR IPS service there is a need to distinguish between different types of Observations. In AIDAVA RO the Observation profile is equivalent to the class sphn:Measurement. Every Measurement should have a code, but it is not grouped in category. For the SNOMED codes can be used the hierarchy of the SNOMED. For the LOINC terminology that is used in the current version (sphn-loinc terminology) there is no hierarchy in the RDF version.
Most of the codes for Measurements (Observations) of type Laboratory are LOINC codes. Also, this category includes a lot of LOINC codes, as listed here: http://hl7.org/fhir/uv/ips/ValueSet-results-laboratory-observations-uv-ips.html. In LOINC it appears that about 60k codes are of class Laboratory. That is why, we will create a mapping of the listed codes to a category, that will be available in the AIDAVA RO. The mapping list itself should be imported in a separate graph to the AIDAVA ontology.
The categories that we can add to the AIDAVA RO are listed here: http://hl7.org/fhir/R4/valueset-observation-category.html#expansion
