dataflash error: can't log

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1.I am writing some code for a thesis on APM2.5. I have altered the logging so 
i can log my own variables by expanding the CTUN with more variables. I did 
this in march and have encountered no problems so far.
When I uploaden a new piece of code on monday 6/05/2013, de data logging began 
producing errors. I did not change anything relating to the log.pde file on 
that last piece of code.

2. The data logging shows negatieve log numbers and cannot be read from. When 
resetting it worked for some time. After a while the same problem occured. But 
now i cant log anything anymore. When i put the originale code 2.9 on the 
quadrotor, i still can't log: when i connect to APM terminal with the 
_original_ code, the APM says: '3ERASING LOGS   3erasing logs'. When testing 
the logging:

I tried resetting the log and erasing the EEPROM several times. Also the red 
and blue leds dont blink anymore at power up of the APM2.5

3. I started using a second APM2.5 which was available on (7/05/2013). I could 
log some flights without problem with my code. But then this morning 
(8/05/2013) after one flight there were no logs on the APM and i couldnt log 
anything. When i connect this APM to the terminal it says: '3No dataflash 
inserted3'. This _second_ APM2.5 still holds my code and the leds still blink 
at startup. I also flew a couple of times without problem, except for the data 
logging which does not occur. When testing logging of the _second_ APM2.5:

Testing dataflash logging
ERR: No dataflash inserted

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

own code and v2.9 on windows 7, Mission Planner 1.2.44
i placed some sonar sensors on my copter and fire and read them through i2c

Please provide any additional information below.

When i use my code i only have 860 bytes of free RAM.

I cannot attach files so if you need my code files plz let me know.

I known this might not be directly related to the arducopter code but i really 
need some help to clear this out. Can you plz help me out? I really appreciate 
it.

Note: i also uploaded the DataFlash_test.pde on the _first_ APM2.5 which did 
work!
