I can confirm on ArchLinux with libgcal 0.9.6-1 and akonadi-googledata-1.2.0-1.
If you edit an event in Google-Calendar (web), Kontact won't sync the edit.
1. Move an already created event to a different time in Google-Calendar (web)
2. Wait for Google-Calendar to confirm that your event has been updated
3. Update your calendar in Kontact, the event remains in the old spot, and will
never sync.

I can also confirm on OpenSuSE 11.1 with KDE 4.4.4, libgcal 0.9.6-4.6 and
akonadi-googledata-1.2.0-2.15.
Sync can be forced by updating the Akonadi resource:
1. Start Akonadi Configuration
2. Select the gcal resource
3. "Modify..."
4. "OK"

The issue is the same when adding contacts with the webinterface. They don't
seem to get updated in kontact until a sync is manually forced (through the
akonadi-resource-menu).

Same for me, the only wait to sync is use akonadi resource manager, modify the
account, then just click ok..Everything resyncs then.
Shouldn't there be a timer for that in akonadi resource manager ?

The same is for me.
Kubuntu 10.10.
There is a solution? Like a timer...

I'll tell akonadi guys also.
Regards, great work!

Is there any work on this? Makes syncing KDE with Google simply NOT working.
Any workaround? Maybe one can manually add the login / password string?

No improvements at all for a year. It makes me so sad, as android dev and kde
user, my agenda management just sucks...

You are absolutely right, this is just saddening and kind of gives me a cold
anger, too.
The devs here don't give a damn about all those android users at all :(

Is there any kde dev who uses android and read this thread ? :)

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=133614 shows how you can use Kontact with
the new "DAV groupware resource".
Does that help?

Here is the resource posted by octav :
http://jpwhiting.blogspot.com/2011/04/kontact-with-google-calendar.html
But really, this is an awfull hack, it relies on a cancel button that doesn't
work right in Kontact's DAV import dialog...
I love KDE and I am a follower since 10 years around, and I don't remember of a
bug that lasts so long without any interest from KDE devs. Is there any way to
ask for it to be solved or to group ourselves to offer a bounty for it ?
Thanks,
Steff

The DAV option for me simply doesn't work, no matter what I do, the "next"
field in the last step is greyed out. I am going to ask for help in the KDE
forum.

Posted this into the forums, hopefully it will gain a bit of attention.

Btw. I also use KDE for more than 10 years and would never switch back to
windows again, but bugs like this sometimes make me wish for it ;)

I subscribed to this forum too, and I invite everyone who wrote on this thread
to ask for this bug to be solved on the kde community forums. I am sure it will
attract some gentle kde dev's attention.

I saw that this issue was reported back in 2010 and was sure it couldn't be the
same problem I see now into the second half of 2011. But it is. Sad. I hope it
will be fixed soon!

It seems libgcal is no longer maintained (or actively at least) considering the
share number of bugs not attended to and last least was about close to a year
ago. Its so sad :(
