Can't use Texture Enhancemnt option #226

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Select any texture enhancement in de Glide64 settings
2. Start a ROM
3. An error pops up (see picture)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Any game should run fine with a texture enhancement

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Using Glide64 Napalm WX, r215 with Project64 1.7, the error also happens on
1.6. Using Windows XP

Please provide any additional information below.

I've tried basically every combination of different options in de Glide
settings but it doesn't solve it. I don't have any idea what could cause this.
My videocard is nVidia Geforce 7900 GT using the latest drivers.

Any solutions for this?

Hmm, I'm using 32bit XP, and texture enhancement works fine for me.
Try to use my settings, as on attached screeen shot.
If it will not help, try to use attached GlideHQ.

Your GlideHQ.dll worked!! It seems there was a problem with my version of
GlideHQ, (version 1.2.0.0). Your version is quite a bit older (1.0.0.25822) but
at least it fixes the problem ;). Don't know why the new version causes this
though.

Thanks a lot!

Btw: Could you please try my version of GlideHQ and see if the problem also
occurs for you? If that's so then I guess this needs to be fixed, right?

Latest version of GlideHQ fixed problems with multi-core CPUs, but it
apparently broke compatibility with single core ones. I have old PC, so I
myself use older version of GlideHQ.

Hmm, I myself got a dual core AMD processor. Weird.. Could it be that it's set
on a single core in my case? How do I change that?

Go to your nVidia Control Panel and set something similar to the attached
setting and see if it works.

Didn't work unfortunately. Guess I have to use the old GlideHQ version. Btw:
Does the latest version of GlideHQ only fix the problems with multi-core CPU's
or are there other changes also?

I have nVidia card too.
Try this GlideHQ that I compiled from the trunk.

pokefan: I get the same error message with that one too. Guess the 1.0.0.25822
version is the only one for me that works with Enhancement options enabled. :S
Do you have this problem too pokefan?

Works fine for me

Oops, it doesn't work on PJ64 v1.6 but it works on 1964 / 1964mod.
Why don't you try 1964 / 1964mod?

I tried 1964 before and I found it quite buggy, I hope there's a fix soon for
the PJ64 version.
