5-1-18 Effluent Turbidity with Contact Chamber
5-1-18 Headloss with Contact Chamber
Ran experiment for 12 hours, slope is 0.0003. Headloss increased 2.5 cm over 12 hours.
We keep having the issue where there is no flow from the clay stock to the system. We have replaced the pump tubing and the microbore tubing, as well as emptying out the stock container and cleaning out the connections. We hypothesized that clay is becoming stuck in the microtubing and restricting flow. We are stuck on this issue right now, as we only started having this issue recently - this had occurred before, but only after running the experiment for extended periods of time, and we were able to run the experiments for at least 9 hours before flow from clay stock stopped. Now, the experiment is failing after only several hours.
@TanviNaidu do you have any suggestions on what we can do to fix this issue/have other teams been experiencing this problem?
Hi Team! I think I might be able to help diagnose the problem if I meet you at your station. When are you guys meeting next?
5-2-18 Headloss with Contact Chamber
Slope is 0.0002, Intercept: 26 cm Headloss increased ~2.5 cm over 18 Hours.
Headloss increased 2-3 cm with contact chamber.
Ran series of experiments from 5-1 to 5-3 with contact chamber to verify previous results
We keep running into an issue where the outlet from the clay stock keeps clogging with clay, preventing clay stock from entering flocculator, stalling experiments. Replaced microbore tubing and pump tubing, did not seem to fix issue.
