End-user centred products in Altinn will implement the new design of the left-side menu.
The left-side menu will be utilised on all (end-user centred) pages in Altinn with the exception of where seperate flows occur, often times identified as modals.
@digdir/team-arbeidsflate (not in github) leads the design and development of the component and ensures that it will be made available through the Altinn Component Library (ref https://github.com/Altinn/altinn-decision-log/issues/12).
@digdir/team-arbeidsflate (not in github) must involve other teams in relation to which "shortcuts" should be visible in various contexts.
Background
What is the change that we're proposing and/or doing?
We seek to better utilise the left-positioned menu in Altinn
Context
What is the issue that we're seeing that is motivating this decision or change?
The vertical space of the left-side menu allows us to provide a flexible amount of relevant content in context of the task the user is currently doing. In tandem with the hamburger menu #14, the left-side menu can serve as context aware actions whereas the hamburger menu acts as the global wayfinding mechanic.
