no new line possible with activated add-on

With the activated add-on, I entered a citation that I haven’t used before into the field. At the end of the citation I tried to press Enter for a new line to enter a second citation. Nothing happens, except a no results output. Obviously the add-on takes the manually entered text (>140 characters) as a search query. One would expect that Enter is still possible as input in the field and that the add-on does not have to be deactivated first. The add-on could, for example, no longer understand the input as a search query after a certain input length and allow normal field behaviour.
