Different versions of DFP-34X-2C2 sticks #198

So I have three DFP-34X-2C2 sticks. Two of them are the old ones (v03) with the external heatsinks glued to them. And the other one is the new one (v06) without the external heatsinks but with some kind of embedded heatsink on it. They both have the same latest 220923 firmware and I used the same ISP foc to check the running temps and Rx power of both and this is what I get:

v06:

So my questions are:

  1. Is this normal with the new version or did I get a defective stick?
  2. Why is there a difference in Rx power? I thought that's dictated by the OLT far-end device? For reference, the Rx power reported by my Huawei (ISP-provided) ONT is around -15dBm. So the old version of the SFP stick is close to this value.

Thoughts?

this question similar to LYN forum.

same answer, only you can do is try it first for few weeks and see if any slow down...

I guess either wrong calibration data or they use different Photodetector (PD) that has very high sensitivity, usually is good for bad optics

above all, it's better try V06 and see how it goes
