Can not connect: SASL authentication failed using mechanism DIGEST-MD5

I have an xmpp server set up at home that I can connect to with pidgin.  I 
tested both the user account to send to as well as the account to send from.  I 
have attached the log file from my phone.

Thank you for your help.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. I set up the xmpp user to send notifications to
2. I set up the xmpp user to log in with
3. I set up the password
4. I set up the server information for the xmpp

What is the expected output?
Successful connection

What do you see instead?
Disconnected

Hi,

Can you generate the logs using this method to have yours settings: 
http://code.google.com/p/gtalksms/wiki/GenerateAppLog

Because in your logs you have this error:
xmpp login failed: SASL authentication failed using mechanism DIGEST-MD5

Did you try to use a secure mode?

Could you generate an app log, so that we can view the server settings.
