What is your idea or suggestion?
We should be able to edit a bot's backstory while leaving the chat direction the same. Please. I had a typo in one bot's backstory. I deleted one letter. The whole chat direction was erased and regenerated. I understand the chat direction pulls from the backstory, but please don't just erase them (or anything else) without warning. When we edit the backstory and hit "continue" a popup could come up along the lines of "Would you like to regenerate the chat direction based on the new backstory?"
How would this feature benefit users?
We would have better control over our bots. Editing them would be made easier, and we wouldn't have to save their information elsewhere to put it back after it's forcibly rewritten.
Can you provide any examples or use cases for the proposed feature?
Anytime a bot is edited, users would be able to do so without having to tip-toe around what will or won't cause things to regenerate. For example, I just edited a bot to be purely horror. Now though, the only scenario it can come up with is stuff with an abandoned asylum. I can't change anything about the "type" of bot he is though without losing everything else about them I just wrote. Saving all of the information outside of chai is annoying, and we shouldn't have to do that to begin with. (though I just saw this problem is because the chat direction isn't saving. It's defaulting to a generated one about an abandoned asylum.)

In general, please stop having everything regenerate when anything is changed without giving us the option to say no. Let us alter personality tags, type, greeting, and backstory, without losing everything we've written in their greeting, backstory and chat direction. Again, give us a popup when we hit continue "Would you like to regenerate the greeting based off the new [xyz thing changed]?", "Would you like to regenerate the backstory based on [xyz thing changed]?", "Would you like to regenerate the chat direction based on [xyz thing changed]?".
