this is called ruby text in computer terms, and furigana(振り仮名)otherwise, and theyre there to indicate pronunciation. this is 100% intended and to be perfectly honest, you dont need it to show up. its only ever done to delineate pronunciation on potentially hard to read words like names (in this case, with the 成田 真理 bit), or on chuuni as fuck concept names, like the very infamous 抑速された勝利の剣 from Fate. my month-late advice: just take it in stride.
edit: lol
No the issue he's describing is that the characters that the furigana are over don't appear. I don't really have any idea what's happening, I've seen many KiriKiri games and they all work fine with furigana. Try searching for hooks as described in the FAQ to try and find some other hooks and try all of them to see if they extract everything.
oh wow im such an idiot LOL
if i had to hazard a guess, it might be that the textbox or maybe the ruby implementation specifically on hello lady is borked somehow, it might use some other plugin. no clue though, honestly.
this also technically isnt a solution but kirikiri games have very easily extractable scripts, if you wanna go that route. GARbro is your friend. play around w the decryption offsets.
I'm not really sure how to explain this, but when reading Japanese VN's sometimes there is a "text over text" thing (not sure how to call it), I'm talking about this:
Sometimes when there is a "text over text" thing, Textractor simply skips them, I've read the FAQ, searched every single hook as well as used the search for hooks and thread linker options but to no avail, here is the problem:
Basically the text in the image above should've been placed before the "は" where the arrow is pointing in the image below:
As you can see inside the game in the first image. But Textractor for some reason splits the text, Is it possible to fix this? I'm a total beginner with Textractor so I hope I managed to explain the issue well.
The game I'm playing is this: https://vndb.org/v13631
