Textractor can't find the text with Sengoku Rance, Rance Quest and Rance 02 #507

Hey Artikash I want to thank you for this excellent translation tool, it helps me a lot in my learning of English and I have fun at the same time. \^-^/

I have not had any particular problem since I downloaded it (about 5 months) but recently I started to play the Rance series and some games have difficulties to be translated or at least not as they should be. I tried the two techniques you put in the FAQ but it didn't work (it's highly possible that I made a stupid mistake) ^^'

P.S. I play with Mangagamer's translations. ^^

You might be attaching to the wrong process. I think I remember someone else asking about this game and it required attaching to main.bin or something instead of Rance.exe which was a dummy process.

How many hooks does Textractor try when you search for hooks?

Well if you mean this one here is a screenshot, I tried to take the ones with the right text but when I select them they don't keep detecting the text. Capture d’écran (231)

The fourth/fifth hook from the bottom HS24@8FDB22 seems like it should work.

Just wanted to mention that attaching it to main.bin worked for Dohna Dohna (same developers as Rance). Thanks to both of you! image

Oh also @Dzack33 could you try this version of Textractor? I think I figured out why it wasn't auto hooking correctly.

So I tried to find a main.bin with the version you gave me of Textractor but I didn't find anything, I tried with Dohna Dohna and everything works fine for this game, but strangely Sengoku Rance, Rance 02 and Rance Quest still don't work, when I select the right hook the next text doesn't display.

What's the console output when you use that alpha version to attach to System40.exe?

You can copy text to clipboard through the game if you edit *.ain code file. Check function "CMessageTextModel@DebugMessageTextToClipboard".
