Pokemon Stadium 2 - status effect from attack is very faint

Using latest official glide64 & HWFBE on Mupen64

1. the status effect from Arbok's "Glare", GranBull's "Scary Face" and 
Arcanine's "Leer" are almost invisible (very faint).  The fb effect is visible 
using jabo plugin (image01-04).

You can simulate the issue using the attached savestate and follow the steps 
below.
POKEMON STADIUM 2-3571182892FD06D.sav2 (1964 saveformat)
ps2.pj..zip (PJ64 saveformat from 1964)

1.  Load savestate (portrait will be corrupted - ignore)
2.  Arcanine appears - press A then "down C" (Leer attack) or Right trigger to 
check
3.  B then "Up C" (switch to GranBull)
4.  A then "Left C" (Scary Face attack)
5.  B then "right C" (switch to Arbok)
6.  A then "left C" (Glare attack)

Let me know if you need newer savestate.

2.  Press A
3.  Press "left C" ("Glare" attack)
3a. repeat step2-3 to get successful hit
4.  Press B
5.  Press "Up C" (switch to GranBull)
6.  Press A
7.  Press "left C" ("Scary Face" attack)
8.  Press B
9.  Press "right C" (switch to "Arcanine")
10. Press A
11. Press "down C" ("Leer" attack)
