One from the random ideas department: What if this was done with bookmarklets?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bookmarklet
What I mean is, editorial staff simple install the set of bookmarklets (one per predicate). These take the current page as their subject, and navigate to a page you edit the object(s), and redirect back to the subject page on save or cancel. Three clicks per assertion, no implementation required for the navigation/browsing features.
OK, this has changed a lot since the initial ticket, however the best part of the idea is using bookmarklets to manage assertions about content.
The idea is that people with opinions about content out in agency land (or suitably motivated public) can make utilise a bookmarklet to make assertions (classification) about pages.
ideally, these humans would "supervise" or provide input to adaptive algorithms, which also feed on clickstream intelligence.
