3 years ago Oh..... So adding to previous. I renamed the tag "test". When I deleted this tag it actually didn't delete the "test" tag but instead deleted the original instance of the tag and test remains with the notes in it. Even though after I renamed the tag to test and clicked on it it had no notes....

May I ask you what app versions are you currently running? (specially in your Android ereader).
Tag duplication is an issue we've addressed a while ago, and it's highly likely you're running an outdated build in at least one of your devices.

3 years ago Hi @jleandroperez - The android version is 2.19 (1.40) and am using on a Boox Nova3 ereader. Haven't actually played around with it much on the ereader since installing, but didn't have any duplicate categories there, only on Mac I think (not suer about on the Linux version)...

3 years ago i have the same issue. some tags in left sidebar are shown twice. whenever i delete one of the duplicates then both are deleted. i tried and it messed all up. and i don't want to try it again. but i would love this issue to be fixed because it's confusing.

3 years ago Not really a solution, but I found if I renamed one of the duplicates I could see which tag the notes where actually in and then delete the other one...

2 years ago It duplicated my tags. Same tag names, shown in two separate tags. Same capitalization and everything

I've noticed that some tags (and all within notes) are duplicated in my account. They just appeared from nowhere.
So, every tag I have now is repeated twice. Clicking of the duplicate shows exactly the same thing. My notes only have the tag a single time.
I'm not sure how this happened, however, I have been trying simplenote on different platforms recently. I use it on MacOS, Linux and just recently on an Android based ereader (Boox Nova3). It seems that since I loaded on the reader I'm having the issue. Also the app seemed to crash a couple of times on the ereader, so maybe this contributed to the issue.
On MacOS I tried renaming the second instance of one of the tags. Clicking on this tag had no notes. Clicking on the non-renamed tag had the notes. So I deleted the renamed tag with no notes. In doing so the tag with the notes vanished as well. ALSO the notes seem to have vanished. They're not in the untagged category. This is quite a big problem for me.
