Manage > People: Allow search team by email #49053

For parity with WP Admin, and for convenience, it would be ideal to make it possible to search Team members by email address, instead of just by username.

Steps to Replicate

Go to Manage > People

Click the magnifying glass icon

Enter an email address of one of your users

Results

No users are found

Results

The user corresponding to the searched email address should be displayed

Great idea!

Just tested myself. You can search via email address on /wp-admin/users.php but not on the Calypso version /people/team/.

A user in this ticket was confused by not being able to find a customer through Calypso, and thought the customer had managed to check out without creating an account at all. We explained how to use Classic view/wp-admin to find the customer by email, but being able to do this direct from Calypso would be really convenient.
