Open grantshares-dapp[bot] opened 2 years ago

grantshares-dapp[bot] commented 2 years ago

Abstract

We would to list NEO token in the NearPay on-ramp widget.

Proposal Information

Description

NearPay Widget is a live product, it’s used to on-ramp users from fiat to crypto.

Our product which was initially designed to on-ramp users in the NEAR Protocol ecosystem. We are now scaling to other blockchains.

The NearPay widget can be integrated on websites and into mobile applications. We support credit and debit card payments and are working on adding more payment methods.

Motivation

1) We already support tokens on NEAR, Ethereum (ETH and some ERC-20), BTC, DAI and others. Our next step is to scale and add other popular tokens 2) Development costs money so we are searching for a grant to cover the initial development and liquidity.

Goals

Main goal is to add the NEO and GAS tokens to the on-ramp widget so NearPay has more tokens inside. The NEO ecosystem projects will discover a new way to on-ramp there users. It can be used by wallet and other types of projects (i.e. NFT marketplaces).

Deliverables & Roadmap

Development work needed to add NEO and GAS tokens (back-end, PM, QA, DevOps):

Liqidity:

Deliverables Verifiability

1) Check that NEO and GAS tokens are listed in the NearPay widget 2) One can pass the full process and successfully buy NEO/GAS using NearPay widget

Budget Plan

About You / Your Organization

Short-Bio

NearPay is a part of Kikimora Labs (https://kikimora.tech/). We focus on crypto-fiat operations. We created several products for the NEAR blockchain in 2021 and 2022 and now we are scaling to other networks.

Portfolio of Projects / Past Experience

https://nearpay.co/ - our website. We have two live products: 1) NearPay on-ramp widget 2) NearPay crypto wallet and cards

The team is 25 people at the moment.

Our team has also participated in development of CoinPipe (https://coinpipe.finance/), MyNearWallet and Roketo (https://roke.to/).

Hello Ivan, nice to see you here. Could you give us more info about the fee you charge to the user? Additionally, I see your service works only via credit/debit card and I assume it is only one way (fiat to crypto). What's your plans for adding additional payment methods? In which terms?

ivan-ilin-nearpay-co commented 2 years ago

Hi, Ethour!

At the moment, the fees are pretty high - 3.99% for non-US residents, not less than $5 per transaction. This is because we are in a process of changing our PSPs to another - the fees will be 2% per transaction - we plan to add this in January 2023. Or maybe in December 2022, if everything goes well.

At the moment we have only credit cards and debit cards. In our roadmap until Q2 2023 we plan to add two new payment methods:

The direction is fiat->crypto at the moment, but we've already started an internal work on the off-ramp solution, but it is difficult to estimate the time of going live with it.

Best, Ivan Ilin COO NearPay

Hi @ivan-ilin-nearpay-co - Thanks for the proposal!

Can users in the United States purchase crypto with NearPay? Also, is there a minimum purchase amount? I am very interested in a fiat onramp that would allow users to buy GAS directly.

☝️ this would be a great use case even for GrantShares. I'm also super interested in fiat on-ramp directly for GAS tokens. I would like to hear more about it. πŸ˜„

Yes, we do accept payments from the United States, but not from all of them. We don't accept card payments from Texas and NY users, and ACH and Wire will be restricted in 10 States. But most of the US is covered at the moment.

Buying GAS directly - yes, it would be possible,

Best, Ivan

This is really interesting, as I see "Service" and "Visa" card are available in many countries.

I have few questions.

  1. Will users be able to deposit NEO / GAS --> load Visa card with NEO / GAS directly --> EURO --> Use the card daily. ( And in that case after one time payment fee for integration and etc... --> Would you be able to add other Neo NEP-17 token assets that are well establish from other projects without additional big fees ? As I presume when your work is done on main integration token standard, there is no need / much work adding others correct ? ( If allowed / decided in future )

  2. I don't see what are the fees % for "Visa POS transactions. I didn't see them on your site. On your site in "Frequently asked questions" section I see this:

    • There is no daily spending limit. ( Is this correct ? ) As I understand.

My thoughts:

I'm waiting to see what other people think about this. I support this in general.

Hi @ivan-ilin-nearpay-co - I downloaded your app to have a look at it, but was unable to proceed due to being in the United States. Can you expand a little bit on how far the USA support goes with your services?

Hi, everyone!

Dean, the screen in your letter is not from the widget - it is from the NearPay cards, not the widget. You can test the widget here: https://widget.nearpay.co/ The served geo is different for these two products. The USA is not supported in the NearPay cards product at all...

Boris, your questions also about the NearPay cards:

This scenario is possible, but it requires another grant, because we will need to make changes in our second product - the NearPay cards. The procedure of adding tokens into cards requires more development (x2) and is more complicated in terms of legal. It will take ~2-3 months based on hour experience. But once we'll do that users will have a NearPay card with NEO inside. This separate grant needs to be ~10,000 NEO 2.

I don't see what are the fees % for "Visa POS transactions. I didn't see them on your site. On your site in "Frequently asked questions" section I see this:

We can add NEO and GAS to NearPay cards, but it needs to be a bigger separate grant. We can discuss it on a call if you want to https://calendly.com/ivan-nearpay. Is the community interested more in on-ramp or cards?

Just FYI https://inst.money allows GAS direct

I've heard users complaining about Inst.Money. The last one told me "well, my KYC got stuck, and even being a European I could not move forward with it.... when I complained to the team, they told me to contact the KYC provider, directly"

Just reporting.

ivan-ilin-nearpay-co commented 2 years ago

I've taken a look at https://inst.money/ - the minimum transaction is 100 USD. We can make a transaction even for 1 or 2 NEO in NearPay.
