Organic curvy paper-mache walls, with LED strips embedded in them! There are also computer bank walls!

3/5/24 Update

Discussed this further with Sets. This has gotten a lot more grand.

They're thinking of including lighting in both the curvy paper-mache pieces, and the walls with the hole pattern behind/next to those. The curvy walls are 10 feet tall, and we're thinking 3 LED strips per side, so 6 total. Since we're following a curve (and not going perfectly vertical), I rounded up to 15 feet per strip. That's basically a 5 meter LED reel per strip. If we want individually addressable LEDs for this, that will get...pricey. I didn't even consider the additional cost of power injection (which will definitely be needed), but six 5 meter individually addressable LED strips totals to about $150, and that's if we go with cheap Amazon strips.

4/11/24 Update

We can use low-density LED strands for the Frund computer bank walls
Justin will likely be bringing by some of his vintage computer simulators

4/27/24 Panic Build 2 Update

We are now also working on adding lighting to the can wall sections of Frund's walls (Sets tried using christmas lights and it wasn't working very well). We got started on that during Panic Build 2.

5/2/24 Update

LED strips have been added to both the left and right Frund wall panels (in the paper mache "channels"), as well as the center panel.
This is pretty close to done, we're working with Sets to install some vintage computer-y stuff on the revolve panels, but other than that, we just need to get boards up and running with code for each panel.
