Unable to view external sdcard

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.view local files goes to /sdcard
2.moving up the file structure will not reach a view that includes any external 
storage
3.

What is the expected output?
External sd card and its files are fully viewable and accessible

What do you see instead?
external sd card unable to be accessed from inside the application

What version of the product are you using?
Version 2.1

On what operating system?
Android 4.1

What device are you using?
Apptab Ten.1

Please provide any additional information below.
Prior to last update I was fully able to view all files in both the internal 
memory and the external sd card.

Pls try to press icon left of "Local files" - list of available locations 
should be expanded.
