Вот такую хрень выдает geeqie 1beta1 при выводе на печать и в PS

I use geeqie to print checklists. When the file name is present Cyrillic, the title character becomes unreadable

It looks like an issue regarding UTF8 and pdf/postscript output. Still no idea on how to fix it.

utf-8 to ascii conversion does not seem to be easy ;-(

We should probably do something like this: http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/~mgk25/ucs/utf2ps.c

But I don't know if it works for cyrillic too.

Понятно, либо это дело далекого будущего, либо вообще никак. Для тех кто не понял Does your plans in support of Cyrillic characters in UTF-8 in the captions? If so then how long it will take? Or would you advise to look for another similar program with similar functionality and support for utf-8?

Is there anything but time which prevents us to move to gtk print + cairo to handle printing in geeqie ?

The attached patch renders the text with pango and sends it to postscript as a bitmap. It should work for all characters, but the quality is a bit worse. It needs testing with various printers.

I agree that using gtk print is the correct long term fix.

2nadvornik Хорошо. У меня на работе есть два сетевых принтера HP8150 и HP1022. Когда скомпилирую программу с патчем проверю и напишу отчет.

Во вложенном файле 2222.pdf подпись к изображению сделана после патча Завтра буду делать компиляцию на работе и проверять печать на принтерах Может Вы сообщите об этом патче на linuxgraphics.ru? Мужики-то не знают :)

Отчет о работе принтеров: HP 8150 PS драйвер /usr/share/cups/model/manufacturer-PPDs/hp/HP_LaserJet_8150_Series.ppd.gz качество печати изображения отличное , буквы в подписи немного нечеткие

HP1022n драйвер Foomatic/hpjs/pcl, hpijs 2.8.4.2 (/usr/share/cups/model/manufacturer-PPDs/hplip/hp-laserjet_1022-hpijs-pcl.ppd.gz) изображение более контрастное, присутствует легкий шум. буквы в подписи более четкие.

Для контрольных листов качество печати обоих принтеров является хорошим
