Missing tx history #891

Actual behavior:

My wallet shows I have a total transactions of 139 for BTC and DFI. For BTC, it only displays my recent transactions since updated to v2.4.0 on 28May. For DFI, it only displays my recent transactions on 28May and also 26Apr2021.

Expected behavior:

To show all my past transactions since I 1st funded the wallet in 26Apr2021.

How to reproduce it (as minimally and precisely as possible):

What are your environment parameters?

BTC transactions For BTC, it only displays my recent transactions since updated to v2.4.0 on 28May.

DFI transactions For DFI, it only displays my recent transactions on 28May and also 26Apr2021. However, transactions between the 2 dates are missing.

Hi @KelBED , thanks for your logs & screenshot, please give us time to investigate. In the mean time you may use DeFiChain Portfolio to monitor your tx history.

Hello, may I check is it normal to sync for almost 6 hrs and still stuck at 99.94 % (gradually dropping)? It kept showing something failed, etc.

Hi @KelBED missing tx history is an ongoing issue that the team is investigating. The sync being stuck at 99.94% is another issue. Can you close the app, restart your PC and open the app again, see if it syncs back up to 100%.

Hello, rebooted, has dropped to 99.92% currently and still sync-ing. Does this means I can't use DefiChain portfolio app too?

The DeFiChain Portfolio app was created by some community members, it can be used as an alternative to track your tx history, especially with the ongoing issue of missing tx history. The team's in the midst of investigating the issue and we might be releasing an app update soon. Thank you for your patience.

@izzycsy you asked me in reddit for uploading some logs for this issue. What kind of log do you need? The wallet's app.log or the binary.log or both? I willing to share the information to solve this issue if you tell me what you need.

BTW don't recommend using DeFiChain Portfoliocheck at the moment. It seems they cannot handle the new node version with the current application and so synchronization will get stuck. According to an issue in github, the fix will be implemented in version 1.5.

same for me. There are still not all transactions shown.

You'll find the logs enclosed. ab3d_logs_2.4.3.zip

Here is an example of a missing transactions. When filtering von USDT I can see the this transaction: defichain_usdt

When filtering for all transaction, the above shown transaction is missing: defichain_no_usdt

Upgrade to 4.4.5 has fixed the issue, alll transaction history is back.

I can confirm that transactions seem to be back now, but they are completely wrong. I found an old Transaction export from a month ago (where everything was still working) and all I can say is the new export over-reports my rewards by a factor of ~5.5. Also when I compare the files using vimdiff the only lines that are identical are the lines containing Commissions. The Rewards are generally bigger (per line) on the correct (old) file, however the new file contains a truckload of more lines containing more rewards for each given day. I think this should be looked into more thoroughly.

For me the issue still persists with 2.4.5. I am still missing all kinds of transactions. I don´t see any transactions since a certain date from mid May.

@izzycsy I already updated to 2.4.5 but unfortunately I got the "unable to start blockchain" error after updating and so I needed to reindex the blockchain, but that takes ages.

@izzycsy I´d like to help out, but I´m not comfortable sharing my logs in public as they may contain sensitive info I´d rather not share with everyone.

Is there there another way or something specific I should look for?

Hi @gamsterx , logs are safe to share as it displays the errors that you're facing and helps the team investigate why. You can manually edit it and vet through before sending as well. If not, wait for a fix.

@izzycsy I know, and that's what I'm doing at the moment. I updated to 2.4.5, after I got the error I deleted the all folders except the wallet directory and now I'm at synchronizing the blockchain, but as I said, it takes ages.

On Linux it's even worse. Whenever I click on export it loads the exports and greys out the export button (which takes about 1-2 minutes) and then when it's about to finish the whole app screen is blank. See a screenshot below. image app.log binary.log and app.config.conf are attached: defi.zip

Hi @izzycsy, I have the same issue: I cannot see any transactions that went out of my defi wallet (tx history missing completely). I can only see the "Account to UTXO" transactions. Here are my logs DeFi Wallet logs.log

I updated to version 2.5.0 but the problem is still here. Just to sum it up:

What I'm not able to tell, is, whether there are some rewards missing completely or whether some of them are too high (as written a few posts above).

@nippur72 @thunderstorm99 @ab3dat @izzycsy @CryptoCHBS The problem seems to be fixed with the latest node release v1.7.10.

Info for Windows users: I downloaded v1.7.10 and manually replaced the defid.exe in C:\Users\USER_NAME\AppData\Local\Programs\DeFi Wallet\resources\binary\win in the current app version v2.5.0.

Missing transactions (and rewards, etc.) seem to show up again. Can you verify on your end?

@gamsterx I did that but looking at the app log I see that 1.7.9 is still getting launched:

which is rather strange considering that the only defid.exe on this system is v1.7.10. I guess I'll wait the official release.

anyway I just checked the transactions and they are correct, they go back to the date I created the wallet. So the new node does fix it, thanks!

@nippur72 The version from the log output seems to come from a static config file of the app and is not directly from the node itself. But good to hear the your transactions are also back! 😄

I have still the behavior that i see new transactions in export, but in gui i see only until i have transfered all to a new address. On a date in march

Checked with version 2.5.1 and looks like it has changed. I see now recent transactions in Gui. Will further test.

Actual behavior Encountered the same problem. I see random transactions in the history but no reward transaction at all when box is checked. Freshly installed the app and recovered the wallet from mnemonic seed (no lock enabled so far). Balance is fine but no tx history visible. Problem appeared Mid May after upgrade to version 2.?.? (last availanble transaction from May 13th. Update: Also, all manually created receive addresses do not appear in the GUI anymore.

Expected behavior To show all my past transactions and LM reward history since I 1st funded the wallet in 17Dec2020. Receive addresses with given labels show up in GUI.

How to reproduce it (as minimally and precisely as possible)

What are your environment parameters? DeFi Wallet Version: 2.5.1 Operating System (OS): Windows 10 – Current free storage capacity: 73 gb

I think that the problem lies somewhere in the node and not the app. I'm using listaccounthistory with "mine" and depth=CURRENT_BLOCKHEIGHT.

Logs.zip I have further checked. In export i see rewards only until around "12/03/2021 / 10:13 pm". Rewards before that date are not in the export file. When i remember correctly that is also the date I have send all coins to a new address. I have app 2.5.2 and loaded the newest snapshot. Added the log files

hi @izzycsy As you can see, with newest snapshot and newest app version, not all rewards are exportet. I try currently to resync and reindex with checkpoints=629500 to see if that make a difference. It should be possible to get all transactions somehow, as it looks like the app developers from portfolio app have with current node also problems to get all the data. Will this improved in the future, that we will get again somehow all transactions?

@memzila hmm could be a node issue. Some users when they update to the latest version, their issues becomes resolved. I'd suggest you wait for the next update.

Hi @izzycsy I have now finished resync and reindexing with checkpoints=629500, but the result ist the same. The last reward entry i see in the export is this: "704278","391d6de4a2c789117719d5f23f36cd6cfdd51aaea0488667dd7d39518d9dcea0","12/03/2021 / 10:13 pm","CurrentUsedAdress","Rewards","5","0.01852754@DFI" So even with checkpoints set to a point short before my first usage of the the wallet app, no rewards are visible. First entry i see in the export is this. "629547","fcd473f75be606d0bcb73759b34e0f525e1e30848440d607dc7189a9d44930c0","08/02/2021 / 09:30 am","dZUmfs5nCjthAU3qaGg84bXVPqS3fkmSEJ","receive","","163.63600000@DFI

Hi @memzila , at the moment I do not have a timeline on the next app release as the team is focusing on the Light Wallet. I'll let you know if and when we do have an app release. Thank you.
