macOS ctr + cmd + space cannot bring up emoji panel #2299

Current behavior

cmd + ctr + space cannot bring up emoji panel. cmd + ctr + space suppose to be the default hotkeys to bring up emoji panel in macOS

Expected behavior

cmd + ctr + space should bring up macOS emoji panel

Steps to reproduce

focus on Boostnote
press cmd + ctr + space
emoji panel doesn't show up

Environment

Version : 0.11.8
OS Version and name : OS X El Capitan 10.11.6

It's not an urgent issue, but would be nice to have it fixed 😬

@fleksin Not sure what's going on. But I've tested with the same versions of the app and macOS; the emoji panel is correctly showing up.

Maybe try the following: (from an Apple thread)

Once I quit Safari, if I go in to Activity Monitor and quit Emojis & Symbols, then it will work
just fine in Finder and all other apps -  until I open Safari again.

To fix the problem trash these two files and then restart:

~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.CharacterPicker.plist
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.CharacterPaletteIM.plist
