2 years ago After looking at the number of products per category (as seen in the image below), the best selling products were in the bed_bath_table category. And what about the lowest? They belonged to the computer department.
Can't say we were that shocked with the information since it made sense. For instance, it's easier to buy a tablecloth through an e-commerce than your next laptop. The reason, well it doesn't make much of a difference to buy bed_bath_table items without seeing them "live", than buying them in the store. These kinds of items we can think of as "a hassle to go to the store to buy", and quiet frankly, item reviews suffice to convince us to buy this one or that one. A tablecloth won't ruin your dinner (in most cases), but a malfunctioning of your computer (which has become our means of work, play, watch movies, etc.) can ruin your week. So, when you are thinking to get a new computer one is a lot more likely to go to the store, survey models, compere, get the kind tech personnel to give you all the details you need to know to see if this or that model is suited to your needs, and so on. Bottom line, it all boils down to what you deem is worth your time to spend an entire morning/afternoon buying.
And well, revenue is not that much of surprise either, since health_and_beuty products tend to be a bit more expensive because of the ingredients than those belonging to our number one selling category. What about size? We can see that computers exceed by a long shot all of the rest, which, again, makes sense, since most of the times you'll buy accessories along your computer, but you could just buy one towel or one lipstick and it will suffice.
