Export to Zotero contains unwanted punctuation #238

TIU - Another question we have about VuFind 3 is about citation data exported to Zotero. Our Reference Librarians have been instructing our users to use the Classic WebVoyage interface when building their Zotero library because when they try to use VuFind the data has punctuation added to the fields (Looks like the ISBD slashes and colons). Looks like VuFind 3 is also pulling in the punctuation when exporting to Zotero. Can anything be done for this?

[Asked TIU to test new export options enabled in #197 and give feedback]:

So far I see one slash at the end of the title and one comma at the end of the publisher (see attached image). It does seem better to me though, only two points instead of several.

From my colleague: "So I exported four books... two of them still had punctuation issues and two didn't. Not sure why it worked differently all of them had the punctuation in the catalog (like forward slash after the title)."

The Zotero plugin does seem to do screen scraping rather than exporting.

Here are three screenshots showing how the different sources looked after imported into Zotero via the FireFox Browser plugin. I do not know why they have different data. For all three, I looked at the local record from MRT's local catalog.

SAI- "When I use my Zotero Chrome plugin to add items from the library catalog to my Zotero library, I get poorly formatted bibliographic information from the catalog's metadata. For example, place of publisher is not included, and there are extraneous marks like commas after the publisher and a slash at the end of book titles. Do you know if there are ways to improve this translation - or whether this is a Zotero issue or a catalog issue?"

I tested some titles using the old VuFind and the new VuFind. I did see some discrepancies: Old catalog:
