Crome to Phone App. crashed with java.lang.ClassCastException when clicking "Next" in the account selection UI

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install "Chrome to Phone"
2. Select any of my GMail account
3. Click "Next"

What is the expected output? 
Normal operation

What do you see instead?
Crashed with java.lang.ClassCastException: android.text.SpannableString cannot 
be cast to java.lang.String

are you behind a firewall that blocks outgoing connections ?
So far no.

Can you open "Gmail" application ? Do you see new messages without hitting
'refresh' ?

Can you open "Talk" application ? Do you see incoming chats ?
