Explorer filter by variable doesn't work #258

When I have a variable in the right-most "filter variables" box the filter button has no effect, and it also stops keyword filtering from working.

Just a note to say this has been added to the conda/analysis3-unstable environment. I've tested and it seems to be working correctly now.
