5 years ago I reviewed this notes, and the explanation is pretty much as expected. The times that the station data were retrieved from the et.water.ca.gov service. The interpolation is calculated the same way, the differences are only from the data. Mostly the values are the same, it's just that goes16 has more station.

just downloaded the dewpoint (Tdew) images for 2019/10/07 that are in https://spatialcimis.water.ca.gov/cimis/2019/10/07/ (GOES 16) and http://10.158.241.77/cimis/2019/10/07/ (GOES 17). I converted them to raster, assigned projection and calculated the differences. Here is the map with the differences (in degrees Celsius). As we discussed in the last meeting, differences are small, but present. Could you independently calculate the differences too ? (maybe I am doing something wrong). Just in case, I am attaching the ASCII files (I renamed them for convenience)
