I got a PS2 recently and wanted to look into FreeDVDBoot. Unfortunately it does not work for me no matter what I try.
I burnt a DVD with just the ISO on it, tried to boot up having the controller in/out memory card in/out but nothing worked, I always get the Disc could not be read message.
I also tried the patcher but that didn't get any results either.
Out of curiosity I put the burnt dvd into my laptop that can run PCSX2 (with like 2 fps but that's not the point) and the patched game loaded.
I turned on the Diagnostics and the ps2 was able to recognize the disk as a dvd-video disc but it opened it the text "Unable to read disc" appeared.
It can read PS2 games, movie DVDs and audio CD-s. Although the booting of ps2 games are slower than what it should be (Getting to the config menu and after that it boots up the game).
Console info:
Version: SCPH-7704
Browser: 1.40
CD player: 2.0
Playstation Driver 2.00
DVD player: 3.11E
Can you recommend anything I can try? Is there any way I can verify 100% if the DVD-s are burnt correctly? This is the only thing I can think of that could have went wrong.
