I'm unable to install Montage via pip3 for Python versions >3.7; python3 -m pip install MontagePy throws:
pip3
python3 -m pip install MontagePy
ERROR: Could not find a version that satisfies the requirement MontagePy (from versions: none)
(This may be expected, but I couldn't find anything to indicate a maximum supported Python version.)
Trying instead to build from source via:
$ git clone https://github.com/Caltech-IPAC/Montage.git $ cd Montage $ make
throws the error configure: error: cannot guess build type; you must specify one
configure: error: cannot guess build type; you must specify one
Any ideas where this specification should be made?
I'm running this in the ubuntu:22.04 container, and have had similar trouble installing in jupyter/scipy-notebook:python-3.10.

Just FYI: the python3-montagepy package is available on Ubuntu since version 20.04.
