(This is the template to report a data issue for Vascan. If you want to report another issue, please change the template above.)

What is the URL of the page where the problem occurs? http://data.canadensys.net/vascan/taxon/2797

What data are incorrect or missing? Antennaria margaritacea (Linnaeus) R. Brown ex de Candolle [1837]

What data are you expecting instead? Antennaria margaritacea (Linnaeus) Hooker [1833] or (L.) Sweet [1826] - see explanation below

If applicable, please provide an authoritative source. Re: R.Brown's original 1817 name, IPNI lists it as invalid (nomen nudum), but lists De Candolle [1837] only as 'In Authors', not ex. Britton & Brown list (L.) Hooker: Flor. Bor. Am., 1: 329, which I checked online. Hooker lists this as Antennaria margaritacea and provides Linnaeus's basionym: Gnaphalium margaritaceum, citing several other references that include it too. Unless there is a reason that Hooker's name is incorrect, his would precede R.Br. ex DC.

But there is also an earlier publication: Antennaria margaritacea (L.) Sweet [1826],than Hooker's combination, but IPNI states that the basionym is not stated, so I'm not sure if Sweet's name is acceptable.

The French Synonymique and TelaBotanica sites list an earlier reference: Antennaria margaritacea (L.) Gaertn. [1791, Fruct. Sem. Pl., 2:410], but checking the original publication online, this turned out to be an error, as Gaertner refers to A. alpina, not A. margaritacea.
