Move our code repo to Git from SVN #16

Hi Everyone,

Can I propose migrating this project from SVN to Git. The experience 
(particularly branching and working on planes) is much more pleasant.

I am happy to do the work, as described here:

I have created a local Git repository with the full history (with tags) from 
our current SVN repository in it. 

Do we need to do anything to create a Git repository on our Google Code 
project? Or is it already there?
