here is a video of what I think would be one of the greatest jailbreak features
since
sbsettings

totally agreed....grip should go in that direction...that pull something that
mixes
email modal table with grip´s log like qtweeter already does...swipe finger
from
status bar down, swipe up to close...

Of course then the qtweeter devs should find a way to use another gesture...

This should be 2 separate issues ("look like Android's" & "interact like
Android's".)

Anyway, in what way should the GriP Message Log be more like Android?

it should look just like it, or at least intagrate witht the iphone status bar
style.
it should look like the status bar simply extends upwards and your just pulling
it down.

I don't think we need a new view for that.

We already have the message-log which can be themed for your needs.
Even with an android skin if you want.

Dunno if the message-log is currently available for a theme creator, but I hope
so. :P

I think the idea behind this issue is the current developed Double Statusbar
theme,
right?

So the developer said, he want to act the theme, to keep the last message sticky
until you interact somehow.
More new events should be shown as number in the statusbar instead of more bars
to
pop up.

Now single tap on the statusbar should open the app of this last received
message
while a doubble-tap or 2-finger-tap open the message log.

This is actually very cool, as you see all messages, even seperated in new and
old
messages (plus the buttons for marking all new as touched).

The only problem is: you can't open the messages app by clicking on it in the
message
log.
It will only show a more detailed view.

So my suggestion would be, to change the behavior of the message log.
Currently there is an arrow at the end of each list item.
http://kttns.org/e0yzu
Maybe make this one more noticeable, by using the the blue circle image with an
arrow
inside from the UIIMages.

Then, with a click on the item, it will open the matching app. A click on the
blue
arrow at the right side of the list item
will open the current "more detail" view.

This would be a similiar behavior, as we are used to from many other iPhone
Apps.

Perhaps you can even add an "clear log" button next to the other ones at the
bottom
of the message-log.

Also, the log should show first the number of items for each category (sms,
push
apps, email, etc), instead of showing them all like right now - that makes a
very
long list, difficult to go through...

Let´s say that then we have "SMS - 1", "Beejive - 2"...then when i press one
of those
items it would then open a list with all the messages of that type in the last
period

Of course, there should be a button to "clean log" like in Android
