Hello dear Chris. You like me, want the best. I would like to share learning about linux stable system

Aside from nix, you could also use distrobox or apx (which is based on distrobox). They manage containers with running lightweight images of many linux distributions and merge the experience with the main operating system. If for whatever reason you want a package that only exists in the AUR, you can install it in an arch container and then use distrobox-export / apx export to get both the binaries and the .desktop files into your main OS. And when you run said app/program, it will launch inside the container but the experience will be native-like.

I've been using distrobox to run MATLAB in Fedora (using an Ubuntu image), which is a pain in the ass to get to work in the majority of distros, but with this it just works.

Great content, do you plan on more content about layering? Would be great if we wanna try some further ricing so the rollback won't waste a bunch of time trying to fix instability

highly suggest checking out ublue.it and jorge costa on youtube, similar ideas/goals here, however using silverblue as the host os, with the understanding that he can roll back changes if the base os becomes unstable.

otherwise using flatpak and containers for app separation, def interesting stuff.
