DTS-HD MA (24-bit) audio dropouts #57

The Media Player app supports both, the decoding (Digital audio out: PCM) and passthrough (Digital audio out: Auto 1) of DTS-HD tracks. In case of DTS-HD MA via HDMI-ARC, it works as such that DTS Core gets extracted and passed on. Audio output however either frequently stutters or cuts out altogether when playing back DTS-HD MA 24-bit tracks. DTS-HD MA 16-bit and DTS-HD HRA (16- & 24-bit) seem fine.

A sample clip can be found here: Animated Logo 1080p AVC / DTS-HD MA 5.1 24-bit 48kHz

It seems that DTS-HD MA tracks are played fine only if the bit depth of the track is 16-bit. In case of 24bit tracks, playback stutters and then completely cuts off after couple of seconds. Audio info of working and nonworking tracks in screenshots. I used native video app on x900f.

The same happens here. Any DTS-HD 24 bit track will stutter like crazy when using the default video player. 16 bit tracks will play just fine.

I can confirm that only 24-bit MA tracks are affected. DTS-HD HRA is not affected, neither 16- nor 24-bit.

Is this issue tracked by Sony at all?
