[BUG] Maloriak's Flash Freeze sometimes casts Shatter before taking any damage

1. Current Behavior

1.1. Description

Maloriak's Flash Freeze encases a player in an ice block (an NPC also called Flash Freeze). The NPC sometimes casts Shatter within a few hundred milliseconds of being spawned, without having taken any damage from another source. This back-to-back damage frequently kills the affected player.

It's unclear what causes this, but some players have theorized that it is caused by reflective damage sources like Lightning Shield or Retribution Aura.

1.2. How to Reproduce

       These steps are just our best guess for now; the cause may be something else.
       1. Engage Maloriak as a Shaman with Lightning Shield
       2. Be hit by Flash Freeze while Lightning Shield is not on its 3.5 second internal cooldown.
       3. Do not cause any damage to the Flash Freeze
       3. Observe that you (and the Flash Freeze ice block) are near-instantly hit with Shatter

Three logs where the only damage taken by the Flash Freeze NPC is its own Shatter. 2. Expected Behavior

2.1. Description

The prevailing interpretation of Flash Freeze is that it should only cast Shatter after being hit by an external source of damage.

This happens to us pretty much every single Flash Freeze. Here are our logs from last reset:

Lightning Shield definitely breaks it instantly, but it also breaks on the mage within one second several times without any apparent damage in the logs. It's pretty hard to really check though, because the only actual damage to Flash Freeze I can find is Swipe from our feral tank one try. We did not use retribution aura.

The mage is probably using molten armor.

We've had some similar issues with our Flash Freezes going off immediately; normal or heroic, the same behavior applies.

The flash freeze doesn't appear to be taking damage from anyone or anything, yet it pops.

(One attempt had the flash freeze cleaved because we had a flash freeze go off in melee, wiping us. Ignore that one.)

We noticed it's not just damage but it appears to be any form of healing to a target of the freeze. This includes Vamperic healing from a shadow priest and healing stream totems. Even glyph of Prayer of Healing caught us out.
