Customer: Investigate WooCommerce for Checkbox Integration #5995

This issue is for The Elegance. As they are using the woocommerce platform for their online store, we would investigate the woocommerce just like we did with shopify and understand the integration ways and options.

I investigated on this on Tuesday. I think we should make the extensions for woocommerce which can integrate with KiboPush for checkbox plugin. I tried to learn to first put the facebook checkbox plugin as it is but could not find anything on it. I would try again today and if we are able to do it without extension then it would be easier. Else we would need to create extension for this just like we did for shopify.

On my further investigation, I have found following two plugins. One is solely for messenger marketing with woocommerce (competitor of KiboPush) and other is complete bot addon which can work on many platforms including instagram bots.

https://codecanyon.net/item/messenger-engagement-a-bot-inboxer-addon-a-power-pack-of-5-messenger-engagement-tools/22364308

I think for integrating with woocommerce we need to learn from first one and we should keep looking at second one for ideas and monitoring the competition as they have done a lot of work.

In order to create a woocommerce integration, we need to create wordpress plugin which would then work with woocommerce. I have just completed my search and there are no single plugins to just install the checkbox plugin.

As a next step, what we can do is that we try to add the checkbox plugin just like we added the chat plugin to our word press website. If we are able to do this then we won't need to write entire integration plugins solely for woocommerce.

I have created a woocommerce store and experimenting with the checkbox plugin on this. This is under construction.

I did extensive study on putting the checkbox on woocommerce and also studied its rest api to retrieve order status and other information. I have found another competitor as well.

Woocommerce is basically a wordpress plugin which converts wordpress blog into ecommerce store. I think in order to work with woocommerce we would need to create a wordpress plugin which would then work with woocommerce plugin.

I looked for if any easy solution is already available or not. But all of the solutions were proprietary and our competitors. So I think it would better that we learn the wordpress and woocommerce platforms by playing with them and then learn to write plugins for them. Plugins for them are written in PHP.

I think for this we don't have quick solution and would need to have full planned integration between cloudkibo and woocommerce. As we are currently integrating with Shopify which itself is little bit complex. I think we should first complete our shopify integration and then start design for woocommerce integration.

There is no customer requirement for this feature from The Elegance yet and it was an offer by us to them. However, I would discuss with their developer to see if they have any way to install checkbox plugin and create and use webhooks and apis in woocommerce. If so, then all the work we would need to do would be same as what we did for clicky. But if no, then we would need to write integrations for woocommerce by writing plugins.

I think it is better to hold this now until we get experience on shopify and then think how to fix this in current setup. I am putting this issue on hold and pending discussion for now.

I had separate discussions with Anjali and Tayyaba today. Next week, I will have meeting on Friday with Anjali and will also setup meeting with Tayyaba (as and when their system revamp is completed).

Anjali Discussion

Anjali is looking into complete marketing of their product. So I would meet with her from marketing perspective and review again how KiboPush should be used in their marketing campaigns. We will touch base on comment capture, broadcast and other features again. She told me that they had gotten page subscription messaging permission on their page and were able to send actual broadcasts. Following image is their broadcast history from operational dashboard. They did one broadcast last month.

I was able to do user view on The Elegance and saw that they have interestingly used Comment Capture feature of ours:

Furthermore, I tried to see what type of messages they are sending through comment capture. Here is the one which received 26 comments:

Here is another which received 79 comments in response:

Tayyaba Discussion

I had separate call with Tayyaba and updated her with prior discussion we had with Anjali. She is looking into WordPress CMS which running their ecommerce store. Previous discussion was to have a checkbox plugin on their website (just like we have for clicky and shopify). While doing checkout, if customer checks this plugin, KiboPush will start sending them order updates on messenger.

For this, we need to have integration with their woocommerce setup. We have decided to look into woocommerce and see how we can have integration to get webhook calls from woocommerce whenever there is an update on order in their system.

Also, they are going under major revamp on their website and are busy this week. So, we have decided to meet next week on this as well and see what are they doing on woocommerce for now. In the meanwhile, I would look again into WooCommerce integration possibilities here.

Yesterday, I again did some investigation to see if woocommerce has introduced any REST API or webhook integrations for external applications. I couldn't find any such features in woocommerce. Also, I tried to find any open source plugins that can integrate with woocommerce but still the problem persisted that all of them were related to commerce things and not for exposing the api to integrate with.

After this, I found the zapier integrations available. I am studying them now and trying to understand how they will work with us. I will also meet elegance people today and see if they have any way to do integrations.
