WeChat Analysis #6

Open jekram opened 8 years ago

jekram commented 8 years ago

@BushraMunaf

I am opening a task to do further analysis on WeChat and I have also uploaded the initial document here.

Background:

Cloudkibo is implementing Client App for Android and iOS with similar functionality as Whatsapp (v1 will have limited functionality.

Signup for either Android or iOS as a tester so you understand what the team is building in v1.

As a next step:

  1. Please provide more details about WeChat for Customer Services. What features it has above and beyond WeChat. Who are some of the customers. Is the target small, medium or large customers. If we can get screen shots and link it would be. Compare it with KiboEngage (see Zarmeen or Sojharo and they can provide lots of details). I want to understand from customer perspective what pain points they are solving.
  2. Same as above for WeChat For Enterprise.
  3. Same as above for WeChat for Productivity.

Couple of questions or clarifications:

WeChat for Enterprise

  1. If I already have a WeChat account as a consumer. Than the same account can be registered in the Enterprise account by my employer. Correct?
  2. So if the above answer is true do I have two Mobile Client one to access my consumer account and one to access my Enterprise Mobile Account? If I do not have two Mobile Clients then how do I switch between my consumer account and my Enterprise Account?
  3. In the WeChat Enterprise, the primary usage is Chat and not phone or Video?
  4. When the phone is used in Enterprise account is the call made over the regular phone network?
  5. WeChat for Enterprise is not private labeled for a large client with 5,000+ people?
  6. WeChat for Enterprise intent to replace email?
  7. In the WeChat for Enterprise does it integrates for all the attachments with a cloud storage? If so do they give you the option of which cloud storage customer can chose. Example: All my corporate docs are stored on Google Storage or Microsoft Storage or Drop Box. So when it comes for sending attachments I go and pick it from my choice of cloud storage. Similarly, when I get an attachment I can store into my Cloud Storage. I am sure they have Cloud Storage of their own. The question is do they give the customer the option of where to store the attachments.
  8. Most of the Enterprise in US (Companies of 500+) uses Microsoft Active Directory (also referred as AD) to define all their employees. Is there any integration Microsoft AD or any other corporate directory.
  9. Can WeChat Enterprise create message groups?
  10. What Audit and Compliance do they provide? Do they provide tools or data extract so at a company level auditors can read messages?
  11. What kind of industries are the initial adopters of WeChat Enterprise? (Ex: Financials, Retailers, High Tech, etc.5)
  12. What size of customers are the initial adopters?
  13. Is Slack getting traction in China?
  14. Does WeChat support multiple threads with the same person? Example: Person A is having five separate threads (discussion) with person B? (Is this same as subaccounts?)
  15. You make the statement: “WeChat enterprise accounts are obviously meant for developers”, so the current users are developers and not Enterprise-wide?
  16. WeChat provides an API so customers can build their own apps.
  17. What is a subscription account? What is a service account?
  18. Can you provide any example of people building on top of WeChat Enterprise
  19. Do you understand why there is such a high usage of voice chat? Is voice Chat quite popalar in WeChat Enterprise?
  20. Is there any AI bot technology in WeChat or in WeChat for Enterprise?
  21. Is there a comparable product like KiboEngage in WeChat?

Thanks

Jawaid Ekram

Talk to you @BushraMunaf and @sojharo Insha Allah at 6;45 PM.
