There are some things, that could be useful in repository creation:

README.md: Basic introduction and description of the project.
.gitignore: Defines files and directories to be ignored by Git.
License file (e.g., MIT, Apache, GPL): Specifies the legal terms under which the code can be used and distributed.
Branch protection rules: Protects key branches (e.g., main) by requiring reviews, CI checks, etc.
Changelog template: A structure to track and document changes over time.
