Node Sprint 1 - update timings and stretch coursework

Why do you want to suggest this update? Feedback from NW6 is that the PD content has time estimations that they cannot fulfil. They also mentioned that most of our coursework is set as mandatory, which it shouldn't.

Timing process suggestion

• [ ] Open the current content (intro, prep, exercise, coursework)
• [ ] Paste it into your AI of preference, asking how long someone with a B2 level of English would take to read this
• [ ] Use the slowest or average + X%
• [ ] Update the timing accordingly
• [ ] Review what other content/exercise must be removed

• 1 key coursework
• 1 Mandatory coursework
• Rest should be stretch coursework

Document necessary changes as a comment

@kfklein15 , @LaraHuzjan , @alfonsocanuk , here's my proposal for changes to Node/Servers sprint 1. @alfonsocanuk , let me know how this fits with your proposals for Node/Servers sprint 2 and keeping coursework+prep to 4 hours.

PREP

Reduce from 80 mins to 60 mins

1. Exercise 1 (non-verbal comms) - reduce time from 45 mins to 25 mins, but leave content as is. 25 mins is ample to read this even for B1 speakers.
2. Exercise 2 (cultural difference) - leave at 20 mins. (But fix the problem of the missing article)
3. Exercise 3 (STAR method) - leave at 15 mins.

DAY-PLAN

Stack the Deck game + Cultural Differences Leave it as is. I don't see a problem getting this done easily in 1 hour.

COURSEWORK

Reduce from 3.5 hours of mandatory to 2.5 hours of mandatory + 1/2 hour stretch

Practice interviews using ChatGPT (employability)

• Rename to Prepare for interviews using an AI
• Leave as Mandatory and reduce time from 2 hours to 1.5 hours
• Improve instructions to make it easy for people to copy the suggested steps instead, or as well as following the video of an American talking very very fast

Practice interviews using the ChatGPT prompt (employability)

• Rename to Do a mock interview with an AI
• Leave as Mandatory and 1 hour

Brag Diary (confidence)

• Change from Mandatory to Stretch but leave at 1/2 hour

This looks good Mark! My only 'worry' is putting Brag diary as stretch, but let's see what @kfklein15 says. :) @alfonsocanuk This gives you more time for prep 👍🏻

OK - all updated. Summary:

Prep - reduced from 80 mins to 60 mins and tidied a little Classwork - left as it was. Coursework 1 - Prepare for a job interview using an AI - reduced from 2 hours to 1 hour. Made this KEY instead of mandatory. Coursework 2 - Do a mock interview with an AI - left at 1 hour and mandatory. Coursework 3 - Brag diary - changed from mandatory to stretch
