[Urgent] [Bug] Customizer not loading for so many users #230

Users tried to deactivate all plugins too, and same issue.

I've tested this on my localhost, on our demo servers and I can't replicate it. Are these users running the latest version of WP ?

I can't see that user's login credentials, I don't have rights.

@cristianraiber Then how can I forward the login details to you? Can I posted here, so that after you saw delete it?

I too can't able to replicate in my local, but few users reporting so something is broke for sure.

@laranz - here's the real cause of the issue:

Ask the user to upgrade to PHP 7.x and "the problem" will go away.

@laranz - once we get WP login credentials for the user using PHP 7.X, please send them my way and I'll look into it.

Hello @laranz ,

It seems like somehow these users have a different value for illdy_color_scheme instead of the predefined ones. Until we find a solution for this you can suggest a little "hack" :

Tell people to add remove_theme_mod( 'illdy_color_scheme ' ); in functions.php, refresh the site and after that delete this function. Most likely people will lose their color scheme.

Meanwhile, I'll investigate this further and come with a solution.

Hello @laranz ,

I found the issue, can you please help me test it ? Download the 2.0.0 version from here : https://downloads.wordpress.org/theme/illdy.2.0.0.zip and after that go to the Customizer and select the default color scheme and save.

After that update to the latest version from wp.org and go to Customizer and see if it works. If it's not working please go and download the version with the fix from here : https://www.dropbox.com/s/mbrhdsmx81329vy/illdy.zip?dl=0 after that go to Customizer and see if it works.

The dropbox version fix the issue 👍 I think in the new version we have new color palette so this cause the issue?

Hello @laranz ,

The first implementation of the color scheme has as default value "Illdy" and the latest has the default value "default" so some users have "Illdy" for color scheme and this is not allowed and gives an error.

Also can you check if you downloaded the 2.0.0 version? Because I gave you the link to 2.0.3. I edited the post now.

Can't seem to replicate this issue. Could you please give more details about this problem and check if there are any errors in the browser console or give us a print screen with the console to see if there are any problems? Thankyou

@razvanaldea89 - try also installing Gutenberg/Classic editor from the w.org repo and testing again.

Hello @michaelwrowe can you give us a screenshot of your console in customizer ? Because we can't reproduce this. Probably this is an incompatibility with a plugin.

Hi all, This issue is fixed in https://github.com/ColorlibHQ/illdy/pull/323 please use version 2.2.0.
