Is this app testable? I dunno, but it probably needs it (especially the batches, christ).
Maybe this would be solved by having a dev instance or something, but having some integration or unit tests as part of the PR process doesn't seem like a terrible idea.
This may or may not be spurred by the fact that I'm terrible at writing tests and want to improve.
