Start a Wiki page about what we want as features (detailled)

This post is used to discuss about what features we want in Langscaper and how it will be presented. This may impact the architecture #10

The wiki page could be something like that :

UI

interfaces

how will be organized the views ? image of mock-up idea, etc... is that possible to move and dock the views ?

theme system

what is planned for managing themes ?

File system

• save/load language (with which extension ? ex : .ls, .lang, .conlang ?)
• import/export language (to which format ?)
• import/export phonological system ( = human anatomy possible sounds, alien anatomy, etc..)

Phonology

What features here ? How will be the views ? What can we made ? Is there a different view for Inventory, Phonotactic , Pronunciation, etc... or just a long scrolling page ?

Grammar

What feature in this section ? I think about :

Syntax tree Typology ( like VOS order, define if possession are alienable, etc... ) Part Of Speech and Lexical Classes Inflection system (rules, congugation/declension tables, etc...) Documentation (user's grammar articles and docs)

Lexicon

Ideas :

Dictionnary Phrasebooks Translations (collection of user's text)

Writing System

Ideas :

Graphem font system Alphabetical order

Wiki

Ideas :

A home page with :

• ID card of the language (name, speaker's species, place where it's spoke, status)
• Genealogy tree with other languages
• Articles (user's custom documentation)

Evolution tools

I don't know what can of tool we wanted

Starting with phonology, i believe we could begin with:

• Consonant and vowel selection
• Phonotactics
• Stress rules
• Intonation (This one could be just a text box, as conlangs are not often spoken by anyone, but is good to have a place to put intonation if needed)
• Allophony

I dont think we should introduce tone features yet, i think its very hard, at least for me, to think and explain how to translate the feature into a tool.
